I haven't been around here much since I've been too busy playing with Tommy to write about playing with Tommy. He's an adorable, cuddly, loving, wonderful little creature. With two top teeth, two bottom teeth, and another couple coming in. He's standing by himself now, for 10-15 seconds, and crawling on all fours. He's fast! He'll race up the stairs...I can usually tell he's started up them because he gets very quiet. The rest of the time he's all "da! Dat! Ba ba ba ba ma ma da!". You know, baby babbling.

He's learned how to throw a ball, thanks to his sister, so we can play catch now. He's starting to laugh, really laugh, at things he sees that are funny. He loves his bath times at night---when the water starts running, he crawls in there and pulls himself up, impatient to get in the tub. Where he'll splash and play with the shampoo bottles (why are the shampoo bottles more interesting than the baby bath toys?) until he decides it's time to get out. He'll stand up in the tub, knowing that I'll pull him out right away if he does that. It was supposed to be discipline, but it's become Tommy's way of telling me "all done, get me out of here."

He's had his first ear infection, a small one that lasted for at least a month. It didn't clear up on it's own, so we had to put him on antibiotics. Which gave him his first diarrehea, followed closely by his first diaper rash. But he's completely undimmed by these traumas, racing around like always.

We're trying to pack up the house to move, and he plays in all the papers and boxes. We've gotten rid of his first round of tiny baby clothes. I can't believe he was ever that TINY! I've also gone through a lot of boxes in the basement where I was keeping things "for my kids someday". I've let go of a lot of the dolls and doll clothes, since Tommy probably won't want those (still have a box of Barbie and Dawn dolls, though. Maybe I'll have a neice, or a granddaughter!). And I've thrown out a lot of crappy photos, and love letters from old boyfriends. Although I was always curious about my mom and dad's previous lives...eh. Probably not. Out they go.

We're in the home stretch now, looking forward to a better chunk of life for all of us. Tommy has had both of us all the time, and only us. Now it's time to get him some friends, and hopefully those baby friends had nice friendly parents, too!
